A slip ring is used in electromechanical systems that require continuous, unrestricted rotation while transferring power or signals between a stationary and rotating part. It's also known as a rotary electrical interface, collector, swivel, or commutator. Slip rings help improve overall system performance by simplifying the design and avoiding the use of fragile, dangling wires at moving joints.
The AST070 model features a 70 mm unobstructed through bore, making it suitable for routing hydraulic or pneumatic lines or for mounting on a concentric shaft. This model uses fiber brush technology, which provides several benefits over traditional contact methods, such as multiple contact points per brush bundle, reduced contact force, and minimal wear. Fiber brushes are maintenance-free, require no lubrication, and generate very little debris.
